Naming a regiment after Netaji an insult: Bose’s kin

A Congress MP from Rohtak, Deepender Singh Hooda recently proposed that a regiment of the Indian Army should be named after Bose.

“Netaji took on the mighty Empire with an Army which his founded and nurtured, the INA(Indian National Army). How can you name just a regiment after Bose and forget about the whole issue of declassification?This is just diversion tactics by the Congress who want to suppress the truth”, Chandra Kumar Bose, great nephew of Subhas Chandra Bose, told Millennium Post.

Members of the Bose family are expected to meet the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in mid-May and demand that the declassification should be monitored by a judge of the Supreme Court. The delegation of about 14 people will be led by Chitra Ghosh, daughter of Netaji’s elder brother,Sarat Chandra Bose. “The entire nation wants to know about Subhas Chandra bose’s disappearance in 1945. Most of our family members also believe that the crash theory is a myth. We want to know the truth immediately and we believe that the files will throw some light in this matter”, Chitra Ghosh told Millennium Post.

Ghosh also recalled how in her childhood, she was tailed while she was attending school from their Woodburn Park home. “We all knew that the family was being watched all the time”, she said.

Chandra Kumar Bose, the family’s spokesperson, said that he  has sent the Prime Minister’s office a list of names of those family members who would attend the crucial meeting with Modi. “We are waiting for the PMO to clear the names”, he said.
