Naidu inaugurates green waste mgmt plant in Lodhi Garden

Similar plants have been set up in three other parks of NDMC (New Delhi Municipal Council) — Nehru Park, Talkatora Garden and NDMC Nursery at Purana Quila Road.
‘There is need to change the thinking of society about sanitation and cleanliness in their surroundings. We have to make ‘Swachha Bharat Mission’ as a social movement to make clean and green India by ensuing maximum participation in the campaign,’ said Naidu.
The total capacity of these four plants is 2 metric tonnes each. Newly-appointed Babul Supriyo, Minister of State for Urban Development, who was also present on the occasion said green waste management plant was a low cost and method for converting green waste into biofuel.
