Nagar’s bail plea rejected

A special CBI court on Wednesday rejected bail plea of former Rajasthan minister Babulal Nagar, who is in jail for allegedly raping and assaulting a 35-year-old woman. Additional chief judicial magistrate (CBI) Mahendra Kumar Mehta rejected the plea saying the case was of ‘serious crime nature that amounts to life imprisonment’ hence bail was not granted, defence lawyer AK Jain said. In the order, the magistrate also said his court could not grant bail in such cases, Jain told a news agency. 53-year-old Nagar was arrested by CBI on 25 October.
