Nagaland cop kills self

A 25-year-old constable of the Nagaland Armed Police posted at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Memorial museum in New Delhi’s Janpath area allegedly ended his life by shooting himself with his service rifle on Tuesday morning. 

The deceased has been identified as Anatho Sumi. The reason behind taking such an extreme step is yet to be ascertained, said senior police officials.

According to the police, the incident took place at around 10:30 am when Constable Anatho Sumi shot himself in the barracks inside the museum premises in New Delhi’s Janpath. Senior police officers of the district said that no suicide note was recovered from the spot. An inquest proceeding has been initiated under Section 174 of CrPC.
