Nadda gives Rs 20L for rehab of fire victims in Himachal

Health Minister JP Nadda on Thursday announced Rs 20 lakh for rehabilitation of victims whose houses were gutted in a fire at Kotla village in Himachal Pradesh on Sunday night.

The amount will be given to the victims from the MP Local Area Development (MPLAD) funds, he said. The fire broke out in Kotla village falling under Kullu district of the state.

"The funds are being provided to the Deputy Commissioner, Kullu, for utilizing it in rehabilitation work in the village. The local administration has been asked to send estimates of the loss of property and rehabilitation requirements," he said.

Over 70 houses were gutted in a fire that broke out on Sunday night. Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh met the affected families and announced Rs 2 crore for construction of houses.
