Mumbai restrict Lions to 140/5

Alviro Pietersen and Dwaine Pretorious rescued Highveld Lions from a spot of bother. The duo added 59 runs for the sixth wicket helping Lions to a respectable 140 in 20 overs.

Earlier, Pragyan Ojha’s double blow reduced Highvelds Lions to 81/5 in the 13th over against Mumbai Indians in the Champions League T20 at the Sawai Mansingh stadium on Friday. Ojha bowled out Jean Symes and dismissed Sohali Tanvir in consecutive overs to leave Lions five down, giving Mumbai a slight edge.

After being invited to bat, Mumbai Indians got off to a steady start before Mitchell Johnson struck in the fifth over by scalping van der Dussen.  Johnson got Dussen (13) caught by Rishi Dhawan at the score of 29. Harbhajan Singh trapped Quinton de Kock (19) leg before to give Lions second blow. Kock’s dismissal reduced Lions to 41/2 in the seventh over. Medium pacer Rishi Dhawan then ended Neil McKenzie by uprooting his off stumps after his 14-ball-16, including one six and a boundary.
