Multi-level parking lot set to be launched on July 31 in Sector 18

People residing in and around satellite city Noida will no longer have to worry about proper and safe parking space in the busiest Atta Market area in Sector 18 as the Noida Authority, which has designed an eight-storeyed parking lot, is all set to open it for public by July 31.

The announcement to this effect was made by the authority officials after a ‘review meeting’ earlier this week. The parking facility, which will accommodate nearly 4,000 cars at a time, will be fully automatic with first-of-its kind design in NCR. The new parking facility costs approximately Rs 212 crore which will be borne by the authority itself.

“Parking has always been an issue in Noida. A multi-level parking system is very helpful for the people as well as for preventing congestion that is caused on the roads due to haphazardly parked vehicles. As the parking lot is located in the heart of the city, it will cover key areas. The close proximity of the Great Indian Mall and Film City to the parking building will serve well to the common people too,” said Saumya Srivastava, Deputy CEO of Noida Authority.

“People in Noida have always suffered inconvenience with parking spaces around the city. Visitors in and around Atta Market have always had troubles parking their vehicles due to lack of space and after opening the building, people will park their vehicles conveniently. A multi-level parking system will not only save space, but also ensure safety of vehicles,” the Deputy CEO said.

Noida Authority, in January 2013, had announced the multi-level parking at Sector 18 commercial sector on the lines of the parking system in the Delhi airport. The work of the building started a few months later. It will have integrated electronic system with parking based on ramps.

Two floors are underground with CCTV network to keep vigilance on the parked vehicles. For the ground floor, there are four gates, while for the underground and upper floors, two gates have been proposed. The School of Design and Architecture, Delhi had reportedly prepared the design of the parking lot.
