Mulayam’s kin killed in Etawah

Tension prevailed in the Bharthana area of the Etawah district when a relative of Mulayam Singh Yadav was gunned down due to a personal rivalry in Baluganj area late Wednesday night.
Police said that Rahul Yadav (22) was gunned down by some unidentified people at around 8pm Wednesday night. The deceased is the son of Ramveer Singh Yadav, Tahaka Block president of the Samajwadi Party and district panchayat member. Ramveer is also a close family friend of Samajwadi Party president.
According to an eye witness, the criminals, around one dozen in numbers and came on motor-cycles, pumped around 35 rounds of bullets from six different firearms. They even stabbed him six times to ensure he is dead. The victim tried to save himself from the criminals and even took shelter at the nearby Dhaba but the criminals chased him and shot him dead. The deceased was set to get married on 21 November.
Etawah is the native place of UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav. Police said prima facie investigation revealed that personal enmity was the reason behind the killing. SP supporters protested against the killing and refused to hand over the body to the police. But after persuasion the body was given to police for post-mortem.
