Mulayam reviews SP’s performance in by-polls

Samajwadi Party Supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav on Monday reviewed the party’s performance in the recently held bypolls in the state in a meeting with the party office bearers.
In the meeting, Yadav sought to know reasons behind party’s defeat in the three assembly seats of Lucknow (east), Saharanpur and Noida from the ministers who were given charge of bypolls campaign in these seats.
‘Netaji (Mulayam) sought to know the reasons for party’s defeat in Lucknow (east), Saharanpur and Noida seats. We have apprised him of the ground reality,’ Cabinet minister Ambika Chowdhury, who attended the meeting told reporters.
Of the 11 assembly seats, where by-polls were held on 13 September, SP had won eight. These are: Charkhari, Bijnore, Thakurdwara, Hamirpur, Rohania, Balha, Nighasan and Sirathu seats.
During the meeting, Mulayam directed the party leaders to go between people and try to resolve their problems.
