MP’s maid murder: Police may get CCTV report today

The Delhi police is likely to get the Digital Video Recorder (DVR) report from Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) on Monday in BSP MP Dhananjay Singh’s domestic help murder case. The DVR containing the CCTV footage of the MP’s flat is being examined by technicians currently.

‘There is a possibility that we will get the DVR report from FSL on Monday. These footages can provide us some more clues to solve this case,’ said SBS Tyagi, DCP (New Delhi).

Dhananjay and his wife Jagriti Singh will be produced in the court on Monday. The couple was earlier sent to five days police remand by a local Delhi court.

Meanwhile, the 21-year-old son of Rakhi Bhadra, the maid who was allegedly tortured to death by Jagriti, has been traced by a team of city police after he had gone missing since Thursday. Shehzan, Rakhi’s son, was traced to his home in West Bengal by a city police team on Friday.

Shehzan went missing on Thursday night from outside the Chanakyapuri police station where he had gone to meet some police officials. Investigators tried calling him on the two mobile phone numbers provided by him, but both were found switched off.

Meanwhile, the police team, which is in West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas district to trace the families of the deceased maid and another domestic help, Meena, is yet to meet with any success on its mission.

Sources said that when the team reached Rakhi’s house, it was found locked from the outside with neighbours having no idea of the family’s whereabouts. The team is camping at the location and has sought the help of local police to trace the inmates of the house.

Rakhi’s body, with several injury marks on her legs, chest and arms, was recovered from Singh’s South Avenue residence on Monday evening.

Police will bring Shehzan to New Delhi and hand over Rakhi’s body to him, a police officer said.
