MP Maharaj may replace CM Bahuguna

According to sources, due to political pressure, the CM Vijay Bahuguna will submit his resignation to governor Aziz Qureshi on Friday. Various senior Congress leaders like union minister Harish Rawat, MP from Pauri constituency Satpal Maharaj, state cabinet minister Indira Hridayesh are strong contenders for CM’s seat.
According to sources, the two-time MP Satpal Maharaj is the top contender. The seven MLS of Progressive Democratic Front (PDF) along with cabinet minister Mantri Prasad Naithani are in constant touch with the Garhwal MP. Vijay Bahuguna and Yashpal Arya have cordial relations with Maharaj. According to sources, nearly 22 MLAs of ruling party are in favour of Satpal. So chances of Harish Rawat and Hridayesh are looking bleak.
