Mountain of Singhvi’s personal corruption has been exposed: BJP

Speaking to the media persons, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said, ‘When the names of black money holders were declared by the Central government before the Supreme Court, Congress Spokesperson, Abhishek Manu Singhvi had said that - A mountain was dug just to obtain mice. But on Tuesday we can say that ‘Mountain’ of Singhvi’s personal corruption has been exposed.’
‘The ITSC has come up with shocking revelations. This is a classic expression of how Black Money is being generated in India, and that too by non-other than tall leaders of the Congress. The ITSC has added about Rs. 92 crore to the professional income of Singhvi over a period of three years. Why was he not declaring this income?’ he questioned.
Patra said, ‘He has no document to back these expenses and claimed that the documents were eaten away by termites. Unfortunately, those who destroyed the economy of the country acting as corrupt termites are trying to shift the blame to the poor real termites.’ Earlier, in December 2012, Singhvi reportedly told ITSC that a termite attack on the premises of his chartered accountant has destroyed all records and expense vouchers. It was learnt that in a short period, between 15 January to 31 March 2011, there has been substantial increase in payments to his legal assistance.
Also, on 28 February 2012, Rs 5 crores has been spent on laptops given to legal assistants and his salary sheet shows that he had employed 14 advocates to assists him, he would have to purchase 1250 laptops (Each costing Rs. 40,000) to account for the amount under the head.
