Mother shot dead over property

A 40-year-old man shot his mother dead when she refused to give him a share from a property in east Delhi's New Usmanpur area.
The police received the call at around 2 pm on Tuesday. When the police reached the spot, they found Shanti Devi, 60, lying in a pool of blood, on the floor of the house. They rushed her to the nearby hospital where she declared brought dead.
Shanti Devi was living with her son Ramesh and family in the same house. Both the mother and the son were disputing over a property in the district court. According to the neighbours, they were also fighting everyday among themselves for the same.
On the day of incident, Ramesh shot his mother after a heated argument with his mother over the property. On hearing the gunshot, neighbours had rushed into their house and had caught Ramesh and had informed the police.
A case under the section 302 of IPC has been registered in the New Usmanpur police station and Ramesh has been arrested. The weapon used to commit the crime has been recovered.
