Indian-American politician Raja Krishnamurthy has been appointed vice chair of the Illinois Innovation Council by the Illinois Governor Pat Quinn. A lawyer and engineer, 39-year-old Krishnamurthy is the former Deputy Treasury of Illinois and lost the November 2012 Congressional elections from the Eight Congressional District of Illinois. He was also the Special Assistant Illinois Attorney General. ounded in 2011 to identify, promote and attract innovation-driven enterprises and individuals to Illinois, the Illinois Innovation Council will develop policies to cultivate and retain entrepreneurs, innovative researchers and other enterprises. ‘Raja has been a leader in developing technologies that will make our world a better place. His experience in advanced research, business and the private sector will strengthen the council as it continues to develop innovative strategies to grow Illinois’ economy and create the high-paying technology jobs of the future,’ Quinn said in a statement.
