Mohan Kumar is new Steel Secy

Senior IAS officer G Mohan Kumar has been appointed as secretary in Ministry of Steel, officials said.
Kumar, a 1979 batch IAS officer of Odisha cadre, is presently special secretary in Ministry of Water resources.The vacancy has necessitated following superannuation of D R S Chaudhary, a 1977 batch IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre.The Steel Ministry is entrusted with the responsibilities of co-ordination and planning of the growth and development of iron and steel industry in the country.
It also has the responsibility for formulation of policies in respect of production, pricing, distribution, import and export of iron and steel, ferro alloys and refractories.
