Modi’s I-Day speech evokes interest

Top Singaporean leaders on Saturday expressed ‘surprise and interest’ over the extempore speech made by PM Narendra Modi on 15 August. This was conveyed to visiting MEA Sushma Swaraj who had a series of meetings with top leadership here including PM Lee Hsien Loong, officials said. Lee told Swaraj it was quite interesting to watch Modi make an extempore speech on such an important and significant occasion, they said.
