‘Modi says no to life saving gears, security officials in a fix’

Informed sources said despite repeated requests and reminders made by the security agencies, Modi have categorically say ‘no’ to such life saving gears while serving the nation. With the decision taken by the PM himself, the officers for PM’s security are concerned and are in a fix on how to deal with the crises.

Sources said, ever since Modi took charge as a PM of India, he has violated his own security atleast five times especially during public meetings, one during his visit to the party headquarters and one during Independence Day speech when he asked to remove the bullet proof glass enclosure at Lal Quila, from where he was supposed to deliver his speech.

In a confidential report drafted by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) it was stressed that Modi should adhere to the guidelines of his own security for the efficient functioning of the SPG and other agencies engaged for round the clock PM’s security. The issue of ‘bullet proof jacket’ has left the officers with sleepless nights and matter became grave after discovery of a ‘stun grenade’ on an aircraft kept on standby during Modi’s US trip was exposed.

In a security review meeting of Modi held last month, the SPG officers has requested the PMO that the PM should follow the security instructions considering serious threat perception to him after he became the PM. The matter was taken to the PM and unfortunately he has turned down the plea by refusing to wear bullet proof jacket.

Threat to Modi was always there even before he became the PM. As a chief minister of Gujarat he was provided with Z-plus security but despite that in 2013, a woman identified as Zuvera Usman Hafiz (35) went past the outermost security barrier holding a knife.

Not the least, in June 20, 2014 a SHO of Hauz Khas in south Delhi has entered a road cordoned off as part of Modi’s route. He even hit the official vehicle of an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) and a PCR van with his Swift Desire car.
