Modi meets top ministers, takes stock of performance

Government’s top leadership present at the meeting reviewed its own performance as the government is about to complete a year in office.
Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu and Urban Development Minister Nitin Gadkari attended the meeting, at Prime Minister’s official 7, Race Course Road residence. The meeting in addition to focussing on the government’s achievements in the last one year also deliberated on its future plan of action.
The NDA regime completes a year in office on May 26. The BJP is reportedly planning for a grand celebration to mark the achievement. There will also be a series of press conferences by various ministries which will highlight their achievements during this one year. Modi is scheduled to begin celebrations on May 25, with a rally in Mathura, the home-town of Deen Dayal Upadhyay, the party most celebrated ideologue.
Sources in the government said, “The first official press conference is expected to be held by the end of the month (May 28) and will <g data-gr-id="22">conducted</g> by Arun Jaitley. After this various other ministries have been instructed to hold press conferences separately to highlight their achievements.”
The PM is also believed to have briefed the ministers about his trip to China, Mongolia and South Korea, designed primarily to invite investment in India.
