Modi magic fails

Even the magic wand of Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi, failed to prevent Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) was rout in the Karnataka assembly polls, as the party bagged 40 seats out of the 223 total seats. Though Modi was reluctant to campaign for a losing cause, his presence in the state failed to increase the tally of the BJP, in fact the places he campaigned BJP reduced its tally of 2008. The Gujarat chief minister addressed public rallies at Bangalore, Mangalore and Belgaum, where the total number of seats that fall under each district add up to 53 seats.
