MLA Shokeen terms Delhi police raid as ‘political conspiracy’

Rambir Shokeen, Mundka MLA, the lone independent MLA in Delhi Assembly called Thursday’s raid, ‘a political conspiracy’. On Thursday, the crime branch raided his house in Nangloi area for an hour in search for a member of Neeraj Bawana gang, which is active in Delhi-NCR. Neeraj Bawana is believed to be a relative of Shokeens’. On Friday, crime branch teams also conducted raids at several places looking for Bawana. Till late Friday evening, cops have failed to arrest him.
Based on a search warrant issued by a local court, Delhi police crime branch had conducted a search at Shokeen’s residence. The senior officials said, ‘We have received a tip-off that Bawana, an accused and the leader of Neeraj Bawana gang, is hiding at the residence of Shokeen. Also members of Neeraj Bawana gang are accompanying him with weapons. So we carried out a search at his residence with a warrant.’
