A 23-year-old student of a mass communication was attacked with a beer bottle by a group of men in South-east Delhi’s posh Greater Kailash colony on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday. She got four stitches on her head and the accused are yet to be identified.
The incident took place at around 1 am when the victim was returning from a pub in South Delhi along with her friends. At the time of the incident, she was going to her friend’s residence in GK. They parked the car near the residence and went upstairs. After realising that she forgot her mobile inside the car she, along with her friends returned to retrieve it.
That is when they came across the other group — comprising three males and two females —who had also parked their car nearby. One of them allegedly passed an objectionable remark at the complainant, following which a fight broke out between two groups.
During the fight, one man from the other group attacked the woman with a beer bottle and she
started to bleed. She along with her friend then went to the police station to report the incident, from where they were sent to AIIMS for medical treatment.
According to the police, after having a heated argument they allegedly attacked her with a beer bottle. She received injuries on her head and face. Hearing the commotion, the locals gathered but the accused persons managed to flee. She was rushed to the nearby hospital where she underwent treatment. Meanwhile, the police was informed.
The cops are scanning the CCTV footage and a case of criminal assault and outraging modesty of a woman has been registered. Further investigation is underway, the official added.
