Minors raped by NGO caretaker

A caretaker of an NGO is said to have sexually assaulted five minors in Gurgaon. Suparna Ka Aangan, situated at Wazirabad, is an NGO for orphaned children. The NGO is responsible for the education, food and shelter of the children.

According to the police, a few teachers of the school which is adjacent to the organisation came to register a complaint against the caretaker of Suparna Ka Aangan. As per their complaint, the minors alleged that Rashik, the caretaker of the children has been physically assaulting the children for a year now.

The teachers also allege that the children had informed the NGO about the assault, but they have not taken any action. 'Later, when the children informed us, we contacted the founder of the NGO, who further rusticated the employee. But after 15 days, the same employee re-joined the organisation. And again started assaulting the girls,' said one of the teachers.

'To confirm the allegations of sexual abuse, the minors were sent for medical examination on Friday. The reports confirmed the rape of the two girls. Reports of other three girls are yet to come,' said a senior police officer.

The manager of the NGO, Anju, claims that the whole story is fabricated. 'The neighbours do not want us to run an NGO in their area. We have 60 children with us, including 16 girls,' she said.

'After the complaint, a raid was conducted in the morning and Rashik was detained. After that the girls were sent for Medical examinations in Civil Hospital where the reports of two girls proved that they were raped. Under section-376 of IPC, Rashik was arrested and further investigation is going on,' said Maheshwar Dayal (DCP) East, Gurgaon.
