Minor who was raped & set ablaze in Gr Noida dies

The 16-year-old girl, who was allegedly raped and set ablaze by a youth in Greater Noida, has succumbed to her injuries. She had suffered over 95 per cent burn injuries and was fighting for her life at Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi following the incident that occurred on Monday in Tigri village in Greater Noida West.

The minor girl was on Monday allegedly raped and set on fire by her boyfriend in Greater Noida. 

The incident took place in Bisrakh village in Greater Noida. 

According to reports, she was forcibly taken to a secluded place by the accused who lives in the same village and was sexually assaulted. 

The accused has been identified as Ajay Sharma (18) and was arrested from his house on charges of rape and an attempt to murder. Last year, the girl also dropped out of school after the accused started stalking her.

“At about 2.30 am (on Monday), Ajay came to meet my daughter. They met on the roof, where he raped her and set her ablaze. He fled from the spot,” the victim’s father had said.
