Minor school girls receive severe burns after accidently using acid in washroom

In a tragic incident, three school girls received burn injuries on their private parts when they accidentally used acid in the washroom, as they mistook it for water. Their condition is stated to be stable. ‘A case of negligence has been lodged against the school’, a police official said.

The incident took place on Wednesday morning in east Delhi’s Seemapuri area. The victims are the student of Sarvodaya Vidyalaya and are below eight years of age. During their school hours, the girls, who study in different classes, went to the washroom.

Finding no water in the washroom, they saw a can filled with liquid. They decided to pour the liquid into the mugs kept in the washroom. Thinking it was water, they used the liquid to wash their private parts. Unfortunately the liquid was acid and the girls received severe burns on their private parts, hands and lower back. They all started screaming and the school staff rushed in the washroom to find out what the commotion was all about.

When the teachers witnessed the incident, the girls were immediately rushed to Guru Teg Bahadur hospital. The families of the victims were also informed by school authorities. All three victims are undergoing treatment and till late Wednesday evening, their condition is stated to be stable. However, the doctors told victim’s parents that their private parts have received severe burns.

The police were informed about the incident by the hospital staff. Family members claimed that the school authorities were forcing them to not to approach the police.
