Minor raped by youth

A 16-year-old minor was raped by a 20-year-old youth on early Tuesday morning. The accused sexually assaulted the girl when she was alone in her parents’ fields. He was caught by the victim’s family and was handed over to the police. The victim lives in Budhera village with her parents who work as labourers in the fields. The incident took place when the girl got up at 4.30 am on Tuesday to switch on the borewell in order to water the crops.

Unfortunately, the accused identified as Madan Lal noticed her walking alone in the fields and preyed upon her. Madan raped her in the fields. To the parents’ surprise, when the girl did not return home, her parents and brother started looking for her.

“They heard her screams from the field and saw Madan assaulting the girl,” said ACP Hawa Singh. The police also said that the accused was handed over to the cops soon after the incident and the girl was taken for medical examination. The medical tests confirmed rape after which an FIR was registered under Section 4 of the POCSO Act for raping a minor at Rajindra Park police station. The accused was produced in the court later in the day, and was sent to judicial custody.
