Minor raped by neighbour

A nine-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her 17-year-old neighbour at Chandni Mahal area in central Delhi, on Thursday.
‘On Thursday evening, when the victim was alone at home, the accused lured her to visit his relatives’ residence and allegedly raped her,’ said Alok Kumar, Additional Commissioner of Police (Central). He, however, ruled out that the accused was religious leader (maulvi), as rumoured by many. Some of the neighbours broke into the house after the victim started screaming and caught the accused red-handed.
The girl was then rushed to the hospital, where sexual assault was confirmed, said sources.
‘The accused was immediately arrested on Thursday evening and booked under section 376 (rape) of IPC and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act’, said Alok.
