Minor girl raped in govt school premises by employee

On Wednesday morning, a minor girl was raped inside a government school in Seelampur. The accused were arrested later at night.
Police said that the victim, a Class III student, lives along with her family in the Seelampur area. The incident took place at approximately 11 am.
The police further said that on Wednesday, after appearing in her examination, she left for her residence. On her way back, the victim realised that she had forgotten one of her stationary items in the classroom and returned back to collect it.
Meanwhile, the accused, an employee of the school, waylaid her and took her inside a gallery situated in the school and allegedly raped her. According to police, after the girl reached her residence, she was in a state of shock and could not talk to any of her family members for a while and went to sleep. After she woke up, the victim told her father about the incident.
He immediately took his daughter to a nearby hospital and informed the police. The girl is said to be in a shock since the incident took place. Police said that they have registered a case in this regard under relevant provisions of the IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO), Act, 2012 at the Seelampur police station and arrested the accused.
Meanwhile, the victim’s parents alleged that after the revelations, the school principal and a few teachers initially tried to shelter the accused as they wanted to hide the incident. Police said that they are verifying the claims of the victim’s family.
