The idea behind the curriculum is to develop all agriculture-based graduation courses on the lines of professional ones to hone up agriculture skills in graduates.
“A professional curriculum should be framed at the agricultural graduation level, while incorporating the basic and fundamental requisites in traditional agriculture courses,” said Singh, after approving the 5th Dean’s Committee recommendations.
The committee was constituted for contemporary rescheduling of quality curriculums in the field of agricultural education. The 5th Dean’s Committee was constituted under chairmanship of Ram Badan Singh, the erstwhile president of Agricultural Scientist Selection Committee and vice-chancellor of the Central Agriculture University, Imphal.
The committee drafted a manual for administrative educational norms for their implementation and preparation of contemporary curriculum, in respect to agriculture-related subjects such as agriculture engineering, bio-technology, dairy technology, fisheries, horticulture and sericulture. The panel has amalgamated agriculture related traditional curriculum.
