MHA, Delhi cops differ on Manipuri youth’s death

The minister, who visited the spot of crime, has said that the attack was ‘well-coordinated’ and ‘a pre-planned’ one. On the other hand, the Delhi Police investigations so far has found the attack to be spontaneous.

According to a highly-placed source in Delhi police, the circumstantial evidence of the crime scene suggests it was a case of drunken brawl. ‘You can call the incident as donnybrook but initially it does not seem like a pre-planned murder as suspected by the minister.’

The statement issued by the minister shocked Delhi police as his statement is seen as ‘contradicting’ the Delhi police line in the matter.

Briefing mediapersons, while the minister expressed concern over the repeated cases of assault in the national capital on people from the northeast, he also insisted that the ‘the attack seems to be well-coordinated and pre-planned’.
