Delhi Metro on Tuesday resumed normal operations at its Noida City Centre station, where one of the platforms has been shut for approximately two months.
The station was partially closed in September after cracks were seen on one of the pillars. Since then, only one platform at the station was used barring two days when the station was shut totally.
As the India International Trade Fair (IITF) was opened for the general public on Tuesday, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has decided to enforce a peak hour frequency of about 5 min 20 seconds on Noida section of Line-3 for passenger convenience. Until Tuesday, it was around eight minutes due to the maintenance work.
Expecting a huge passenger crowd at the Noida City Centre station, the DMRC has inducted eight coach trains into service.
DMRC has also started selling IITF entry tickets for general public. People can buy tickets from the customer care centres at all the metro stations from 8.30 am to 4 pm.
Noida City Centre in Uttar Pradesh is the last station for trains on the Blue Line originating at Dwarka Sector 21 in Delhi. Dwarka is also linked to Vaishali, also in Uttar Pradesh.
