Metro runs slow for technical snag

The commuters had to face difficulties on the Violet Line of Delhi Metro from ITO to Faridabad due to technical snags on Friday afternoon.

“Trains were running very slow and it took around 45 minutes from Central Secretariat to ITO,” said Aditi Rai, a commuter who works at ITO. The trains were almost crawling on the routes and even the ticket counters at several Metro stations including ITO were shut down. “The counters are shut due to technical snags” You can catch a bus or any other route feasible to your destination,” suggested a metro employee to a group of commuters at ITO.

“The service was affected due to a minor technical snag for 10-15 minutes causing trains to run slow. The service got normalised after 30-40 minutes,” said a DMRC spokesperson.

Meanwhile, Delhi Metro services till Faridabad in Haryana will start at 8 am on all Sundays and not at 6 am-the usual time when the train service begins, an official said on Friday.

“To ensure better management of the maintenance activities planned and carried out during the night, the services on the Badarpur - Escorts Mujesar (Faridabad) section will start at 8 am on Sundays,” said Anuj Dayal, executive director, corporate communications, Delhi Metro.

On other days of the week, the services will start as usual from 6 am onwards, he added.
