Metro gets Rs 3,324 crore in budgetary allocation

Delhi Metro on Monday got a budgetary support of Rs 3,324.35 crore for the next fiscal which was around Rs 840 crore more than what it was allocated for 2013-14.
The budgetary support will help Delhi Metro in expansion of its network and increasing its rolling stock. The Indian government had allocated Rs 2484.18 crore to Delhi Metro for the current fiscal.
Apart from budgetary resources, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation will raise Rs 3233.53 crore for meeting its investment requirements.
The Centre has provided Rs 838.07 crore as part of equity investment in the corporation. In the last budget, the Central government had proposed to infuse Rs 650 crore as its equity, while the pass through assistance was Rs 1,750 crore.
