Metro feeder bus driver shot at by local goon

Driver of a metro feeder bus service was shot by a local goon after he refused to pay Rs 500 as protection money at Chhatarpur in south Delhi on Friday.

According to a source, when Sikandar (33) his friend around 10 pm on Friday near the Chhatarpur metro station to count the daily fare collection, a youth in his early twenties named Rafiq (alias Chhotu) approached them and shot three bullets at Sikandar. The victim dodged the first two bullets but the third one hit him near his waist. The accused fled the spot immediately.

Rafiq is a local goon and he had been asking Sikandar for Rs 500 as protection money for the past few days. He had threatened his family members with dire consequences in the past after which they had registered a complaint at the Mehrauli police station, but it was not taken too seriously, said the victim’s mother.
