Mercury breaches 30-deg C mark

Mercury crossed the 30-degree Celsius mark in the national Capital on Friday heralding the onset of the summer season. “The maximum temperature was recorded at 30.6 degrees Celsius, a notch above the normal, while the minimum temperature settled at 14.5 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season’s average, the MeT Department said. “The mercury breaching the 30-degree Celsius mark signifies the closure of winter and also the approaching summer season,” a MeT official said.
