MCDs dub Delhi budget ‘misleading’

Reacting over the budget presented by the Delhi government, all three BJP-ruled Municipal Corporations of Delhi said that the budget presented by the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia does not highlight development and public interest. Besides that, it also lacks experience and focus. The Corporation leaders said that the Delhi government, through its budget, has misled the people especially civic agencies.

Leader of the House in North MCD Yogendra Chandolia, further said that the statement given by the Deputy CM while presenting the budget that it has released 49 per cent more budget to the Corporations in comparison to last year up to June 30, 2015, is totally misleading as the Delhi government has released the installment already.

Chandolia said the budget provisions seem to be disintegrated which do not ensure comprehensive development of the city. He said that experience says that whatever they say or announce is hardly fulfilled. Hence, the budget presented is more of a marketing strategy than a real progressive one.
Another senior BJP councillor from East MCD said: “The budget has proved that they are not with the citizens, for the citizens but working like an entrepreneur to bring more profit by levying additional burden of taxes making living costlier in the city.”
