MCD Mayors meet President

In order to put pressure on the Delhi government for immediate implementation of the Fourth Finance Commission Report, all three Mayors of the BJP-ruled Municipal Corporations of Delhi (MCDs) on Wednesday met President Pranab Mukherjee.

North Delhi Mayor Ravinder Gupta, East Delhi Mayor Harsh Malhotra and South Delhi Mayor Subhash Arya along with Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay met him to apprise him about the financial crisis being faced by the Corporations due to acute shortage of funds. The BJP delegation requested the President to intervene into the matter and direct the AAP government to pay the pending arrears of the Third 
Finance Commission to the Municipal Corporations and implement the recommendations of the Fourth Finance Commission. “We apprised the President about the ongoing financial crisis which is being faced by the Corporation. We requested him to intervene into the matter and direct the Delhi government to release the funds pending as per the third commission and implement the report of Fourth immediately,”  the Mayors said.
