MBA student murder: Victim dies in midst of tiff between ex-lovers

A day after a MBA student was found murdered in a parked car at Sultanpur, Delhi police have arrested two persons in connection with the case. The victim was pursuing a course in Hotel Management. According to police, Daksh Singh (22) had accompanied a couple, who were dating each other since the past few months. Singh was friends with them. On the day of the incident, all three of them were on a long drive in their white coloured Maruti Ritz.

The accused have been identified as Satish and Virender, who were apprehended from their respective residence. Satish had married Virender’s sister a few months ago. Before his marriage, he was in a relationship with a girl, who broke ties after he got married. Further, she became friends with one Mukesh and began another relationship.

Satish told police that his ego was hurt after he found out that his ex-girlfriend was currently having a relationship with someone else. Several times, Satish objected to their relationship and also threatened Mukesh to stay away from that girl. But the couple ignored their warnings and continued their relationship.

On Thursday afternoon, Satish received information that Mukesh and his girlfriend were going on a date. For the same, he along with his brother-in-law began following them in another car. At an isolated place near Sultanpur metro station, the accused overtook the car in which the couple and Singh were present.

Shortly, a heated argument ensued between Mukesh and Satish. Meanwhile, Singh intervened and had a tiff with Satish. During the incident, Virender sat inside the car and kept  a look out for passerbys. In the mean time, the couple managed to escape on foot. The argument reached a tipping point and the accused stabbed Singh and attacked him with wooden sticks.
Leaving him unconscious, the accused fled from the scene. Later, a police team reached the spot and carried out their probe. During the investigation, a piece of ladies footwear was found inside the car. This piece of evidence hinted at a love-affair angle behind the murder. Accordingly an investigation was carried out and both Satish and Virender were arrested, who have been booked under the charges of murder and criminal conspiracy of the Indian Penal Code.
