Massive fire in Okhla Mandi; no casualties reported

A massive fire broke out in Okhla ‘subzi’ Mandi in South-East Delhi on Monday afternoon. Soon after the fire was reported, eight fire tenders were rushed to the spot. No one was injured in the fire.
According to the fire department, they received a call at around 3.30 pm and immediately eight fire tenders were sent to the spot. It took around half an hour to douse the fire.
It was learnt that some crates in a truck parked in the mandi caught fire and it spread to other the surrounding areas as well. Around seven shops were gutted into fire. “So far there are no reports of any injury or casualty. The authorities are trying to ascertain the cause of the fire,” the senior official in fire department said.
