Maoists torch truck over levy non-payment

Maoists have torched a poclain machine used in sand excavation and a truck over non-payment of levy by a contractor in Gaya district, a police officer said. A group of Maoists torched the machine at Bajitpur Balughat after the sand contractor refused to pay them levy, senior superintendent of police Nishant Kumar Tiwari said. In a related incident, the ultras of proscribed Maoist outfit, People’s Front of India, set a truck ablaze at Baheriabigha village, he said.
