Sheer lack of coordination between Noida and Ghaziabad police gave a chance to members an illegal company engaged in making fake regulators for Indane Gas to flee.
On Friday, Ghaziabad police seized a car with 250 fake regulators meant for Indane Gas in Greater Noida. 'During a routine check, we came across the car. We arrested both the driver and the passenger. After their arrest, we raided the company office in Greater Noida, but it was locked. We asked the Noida police for assistance, but to no avail,' said Shiv Shankar Yadav, S P City Ghaziabad. 'We passed the information to Noida police and returned,' added Yadav.
The arrestees have been identified as Sonu and Ravi Kumar. Police had also recovered a country-made pistol and two mobiles from their possession. They were nabbed around 1 pm on Friday. Sonu named one B S Chauhan as the owner of the company being run at Plot No. 27, Udyog Kendra-II.
'I am not aware of any such information from Ghaziabad police,' said Ashok Kumar, SP Greater Noida. Interestingly, the inter-district information was transferred through police chiefs of concerned districts not through police stations.
If there was coordination among the police of these two districts, the entire gang, along with the factory, could have been sealed. While the police warred among themselves, the owner of illegal company managed to flee with his staff.
The Greater Noida police has still not done anything in this regard.
