Mann offers unconditional apology for Parliament video

But, according to sources, the Speaker was not impressed with Mr. Mann’s apology as his video was a serious matter concerning the security of Parliament, which had been attacked once.

Mr. Mann appeared before the Speaker after being summoned.

Sources in the Lok Sabha Secretariat said Ms. Mahajan was trying to contact Mr. Mann since Thursday evening but his phone was not reachable. He could finally be contacted only this morning.

The Speaker had sought his explanation on the video and Mr. Mann gave his views, the sources said.

In the nearly 12-minute video, Mr. Mann gives a running commentary as his vehicle crosses security barricades and enters Parliament. “I’ll today show you something you would not have seen earlier,” he is heard saying in the video.

Mr. Mann is then showed entering a room where questions to be taken up inside Parliament are being sorted and describes the process.

The issue led to adjournment of both Houses, first for an hour during Question Hour and then for the day.
