Former South African president and anti-apartheid icon Nelson Mandela spent Saturday night at a hospital in Pretoria after being admitted for what was said to be a scheduled check-up, media reports said on Sunday. No updates were given Sunday on the current condition of the 94-year-old leader, BBC reported. President Jacob Zuma’s office said earlier there was no indication that there was any reason for alarm. The former president spent 18 days in hospital in December. He was treated for a lung infection and gallstones.
