Man who stole only luxury cars arrested

Delhi Police arrested the notorious interstate auto lifter who was behind the famous BMW theft case in Noida and one Fortuner theft case in Panchkula, Haryana. Police have recovered both the vehicles and also recovered an Audi which he stole, police said on Thursday.
In order to lead a lavish and luxurious lifestyle, Rahul, the accused, inspired by a character of a Bollywood flick, took to stealing high-end luxury cars in Delhi, Haryana and UP. Arrested by the Delhi Police in January this year, Rahul got bail in May and again got into vehicle theft only to impress his girlfriends.
Partially bald, he wears a wig and dresses smartly.
According to the police, on July 15, a BMW car was stolen from Noida, Uttar Pradesh which was widely telecast by media. In order to put a stop on the increasing cases of vehicle theft, Anti Auto Theft Squad of the Delhi Police was asked to monitor the case.
During investigation, police received a secret information that on July 20, one of the accused in the BMW theft case will be coming to Hotel Radisson Blue in Paschim Vihar to sell the stolen luxury car. Accordingly, a trap was laid near the Hotel. In the evening, a black BMW came near the service lane of the Outer Ring Road near Hotel Radisson Blue.
Seeing two persons stepping out of the BMW, cops tried to apprehend them but they tried to flee. After a brief scuffle, police apprehended Rahul and Mohit. They were asked to show the car documents. On failing to produce documents, police got to know that the car was indeed stolen.
During sustained interrogation, Rahul confessed that he is an active auto-lifter.
He was arrested the first time in 2002 in Hisar and since then he has been actively involved in the crime.
