Man uses fake caste certificate to get land, cops lodge FIR

An FIR was lodged against a person, who allegedly got land allotted to him by using a fake caste certificate, police said on Thursday.
Vir Singh, resident of Unchi Dankaur, allegedly got the patta land allotted in his name by submitting a fake caste certificate in 1995, the police said.
After court orders, the FIR was lodged on Wednesday against Singh at the Dankaur police station, they said. A social worker Sunil Gautam has lodged a complaint against Singh for allegedly grabbing land on fake caste certificate.
Though Singh was fromĀ a upper caste but he had produced a fake caste certificate and got the land allotted in his name, he had said.
Gautam has alleged that Consolidation Department officer too was involved as without his consent no patta land could be allotted. The matter is being investigated, a police officer said.
