Man stabbed to death by inebriated miscreants

A 27-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death by around ten persons for objecting to consumption of liquor near his house in Narsingh Garden area in West Delhi’s Khyala on Thursday night. The deceased, identified as Deepak, had an argument with one of the accused, two days back over creating ruckus.

According to the police, the incident took place around 9 pm when Deepak, who owns a cart at Sarojini Nagar market area was returning home when he saw a group of men drinking right opposite his house. The group of men in inebriated state got into a fight with him after he objected to the act. The argument escalated so much that the group barged into Deepak’s house and stabbed him several times right in front of his wife and children.

According to the police, four out of the ten persons have been identified. Meanwhile, neighbours made a PCR call after which the police rushed Deepak to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Police have registered a case of murder at the Khyala police station under relevant sections of the IPC. The CCTV camera of the nearby shop was not working during the time of the incident due to which cops are finding it difficult to establish the identity of the accused.

Family members of Deepak, on the other alleged that the men often drank in front of their house and created nuisance. Despite repeated attempts to contact DCP (West) Pushpendra Kumar regarding the case details, he was not available for comment.
