Man shot dead by three unidentified assassins

A 26-year-old man was shot by three unidentified men in North-west Delhi’s Jahangirpuri area on Tuesday afternoon. Police suspect personal enmity as the motive behind the murder.

Meanwhile, locals along with family members of the man allegedly blocked the road and pelted stones at police vehicles. To control the situation, police force was deployed to disperse the angry mob.

According to the police, the incident took place around 2.30 pm on Tuesday near C-block of the Jahangirpuri area when three unidentified bike-borne assailants opened fire at the victim identified as Dinesh Kumar. He was a building materials supplier. Locals who were present in the area at the time of the incident made a PCR call after which police took him to Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital where he was declared brought dead. According to a senior police officer, they suspect the role of someone familiar to the victim. A case has been registered at the Mahindra Park police station under Section 302 of the IPC against unknown persons. No arrests have been made so far.
