Man shot at by unidentified assailants

A 25-year old man was shot at by two unidentified assailants near his jewellery shop in South-west Delhi’s Najafgarh area on Wednesday night.

According to the police, the incident took place at around 9.45 pm when the man identified as Nikunj was closing down his rented jewellery shop. Out of the blue, two unidentified men shot at him and fled with cash worth Rs 1 lakh along with some gold and silver jewellery.

Police said that the locals then rushed him to Mata Chanan Devi hospital where he is undergoing treatment. Doctors at the hospital said that he suffered bullet injuries in the abdomen adding that his life is out of danger. Police said that Nikunj is a native of Muzaffarnagar and owns a rented shop near the Uttam Nagar road.

A case of attempt to murder and robbery has been registered against the two unidentified men at the Dwarka North police station under relevant sections of the IPC. Police have started investigating the matter and are trying to nab the accused persons.
