Man shoots father-in-law over property in Gurgaon

A shopkeeper was allegedly shot at by his son-in-law in Badshahpur on Saturday. Police said victim Jagmal (55) was recuperating at a city hospital and was out of danger.

Police cite property dispute to be the reason behind the incident. According to the police, Jagmal owns a grocery store in Palda village of Badshahpur, while his son-in-law, Balkishan (30), runs a property business. Balkishan allegedly wanted more share for his wife in Jagmal’s property, but the latter was unwilling to do so. As a result, their relationship had become sour, police said. Police said the incident took place around 8 pm on Saturday, when Jagmal shut his shop and sat in his car to go home. Suddenly, Balkishan came and allegedly opened fire at Jagmal.

Jagmal has received a bullet injury in the chest. Residents nabbed Balkishan and called the police. In 2011, Jagmal’s son was shot dead in Farrukhnagar. Then, too, Balkishan was accused in the case.
