Man pours hot oil on wife

A trader allegedly poured boiling oil from a pan on his wife while she was making ‘puris’. The woman received burn injuries on her face and upper parts of the body. According to police, Kashi Ram, 32, poured boiling hot oil  on his wife Ritu, 29, on Monday morning. She was immediately rushed to Ghaziabad district hospital by neighbours and relatives. She was referred to a Delhi hospital in the evening. According to doctors, her condition is stable. ‘We asked the relatives to come to the police station and lodge an FIR against the accused but they did not turn up. Her husband is absconding,’ said Raj Rani Sharma, in-charge of local police post, who is investigating into the matter. ‘So, far we have not registered the case,’ he said. The couple reportedly got married around 10 years ago and have two children. Police blame their strained relationship for the incident, while locals hinted towards dowry issues.
