Man loses Rs 100, and then his life in a bet

A heated argument over money claimed a life in Delhi on Friday. The incident took place in Rohini area of west Delhi, where a 50-year-old man was stabbed to death by his friend after a heated argument over Rs 100.

According to police, about round 10.30 pm, it was reported that a man had been stabbed. The victim was identified as Deepak Vaid, 50, who was stabbed by his friend Rajesh Bansal, 46.

‘Vaid was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Bansal fled after the attack. His friends found him with blood stains on his clothes,’ said a police official.

‘Three days ago Vaid lost Rs 100 to Bansal in a bet. Bansal was demanding the money from the victim. Last night, Basal again demanded the money, but Vaid did not give it. They argued and Bansal stabbed him and fled,’ the official added.

Both Vaid and Bansal were residents of Rohini’s Sector-7. A case has been registered and Bansal has been sent to judicial custody.

Earlier, a 19-year-old boy had killed his 60-year-old father after a heated argument over money, and then tried to burn his body after leaving it in the house for two days.
